Cookies & More

Cookie Policy

Like most websites, ours uses cookies to help things work properly and to understand how visitors use the site. This page explains what cookies we use, what they do, and how you can manage them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They're widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to the site owner.

Cookies we use

We keep this to a minimum. The cookies and similar technologies used on pclincs.co.uk fall into these categories:

  • Strictly necessary — used to protect our contact form from spam and abuse (Cloudflare Turnstile). These only load if you use the contact form, and the site works without them for everything else.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity, which help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These record things like pages visited and general usage patterns, not your name or contact details.

We don't use cookies for advertising or retargeting, and we don't sell any data collected through these tools.

Your cookie choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you're happy for us to use analytics cookies. If you choose Accept, analytics cookies are allowed to be set. If you choose Reject, or don't respond, only strictly necessary cookies are used and no analytics data is recorded about your visit. Your choice is remembered in your browser so you won't be asked again on the same device, unless you clear your browser's site data.

How these load

Google Tag Manager does not run the moment you land on the page. It only starts once you scroll, tap, click or otherwise interact with the site, or after a short delay if you don't — this keeps the site fast. Even once it has started, the analytics tools it can load are only allowed to set cookies and record data if you've accepted the cookie banner; if you reject or ignore it, Google Tag Manager still loads in a restricted, cookieless mode that records nothing about you.

Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that our contact form is being submitted by a real person rather than a bot, only loads if you open the contact page and start filling in the form.

Managing cookies

You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and site data for pclincs.co.uk, which will show the consent banner again on your next visit. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings generally — every modern browser lets you view, block or remove them, either for all sites or for pclincs.co.uk specifically. Blocking cookies may mean some parts of the site (such as embedded maps) don't work as smoothly, but the core site and contact details will still work.

For more on how we handle personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
