Returns & Refunds

At PC Lincs we want you to be completely happy with whatever you buy from us. Every PC we sell is hand-built and tested here in Scunthorpe before it leaves us, so problems are rare. But if something isn't right, this policy explains exactly where you stand, in plain, fair terms.

This policy covers physical products bought from our online shop. It sits alongside your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and nothing in this policy reduces or removes those rights.

1. Your 14-day right to change your mind

Because you order online, you have the right to cancel your order for any reason within 14 days of receiving your item, even if there is nothing wrong with it. You then have a further 14 days to return it to us once you have told us you wish to cancel.

To cancel, simply let us know by phone on 07359 729639 or by email at support@pclincs.co.uk. You do not have to give a reason, though we always welcome feedback.

Once we have received the item back and checked it over, we will refund you within 14 days, using the same payment method you used to pay.

The following sensible conditions apply:

  • The item must be returned to us complete and in the same condition you received it, with all accessories, cables and packaging.
  • You are responsible for returning the item to us. As we are a local Scunthorpe business, the easiest option is usually to drop it back to the workshop, or we can arrange to collect it from you locally.
  • We may reduce your refund to reflect any loss in value if the item shows signs of use beyond simply checking it. Handling the item to see whether it is right for you is fine; using it as though it were already yours is not.

2. Made-to-order and bespoke builds

If you ask us to build a PC to a bespoke specification that we would not normally stock or offer as standard, the 14-day right to change your mind may not apply, because the item has been made to your personal requirements (as set out in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).

We will always make it clear before you order whether your build is a standard product or a bespoke made-to-order item, so you understand your cancellation rights before you commit. This does not affect your rights if a bespoke item arrives faulty or not as described.

3. If your item is faulty

If a product develops a fault, you are protected under the Consumer Rights Act 2015:

  • Within 30 days of receiving it, if the item is faulty you have the right to reject it and receive a full refund.
  • Within 6 months, if a fault appears we will repair or replace it. If a repair or replacement is not possible or is unsuccessful, you are entitled to a refund.
  • After 6 months, your item remains covered by its warranty (see below), and you may still have rights under the Consumer Rights Act.

Because we build and service computers for a living, our first instinct is usually to get a machine working again quickly, but the choice of remedy always respects your legal rights. We will never charge you for diagnosing or fixing a genuine fault on something we sold you.

4. Warranty on PCs we build

Every custom PC we build comes with a 12-month return-to-base warranty covering parts and labour on the build itself.

Individual components (such as graphics cards, drives and power supplies) also carry their own manufacturer warranties, some of which run longer than 12 months. Where a component fault falls under a manufacturer warranty, we will help you make that claim.

The warranty covers genuine faults arising from the build or its components under normal use. It does not cover:

  • Accidental damage or drops
  • Liquid damage
  • Faults caused by misuse, neglect or unsuitable operating conditions
  • Modifications or hardware changes made after the machine leaves us
  • Software issues, viruses or malware introduced after collection or delivery
  • Parts supplied by you rather than by us

If you are ever unsure whether something is covered, just ask. We would always rather take a look than have you worrying about the small print.

5. How to return something

  • Get in touch first — call 07359 729639 or email support@pclincs.co.uk so we know it's coming and can arrange the quickest resolution.
  • Return the item — bring it back to the workshop at 2 Ceres Grove, Scunthorpe, DN17 2FL, or arrange a local collection with us.
  • We'll sort it — we'll check it over and arrange the repair, replacement or refund, keeping you updated throughout.

For faulty items, we will cover the reasonable cost of getting the item back to us. For change-of-mind returns, the cost of return is your responsibility, though a local drop-off to us is usually the simplest and cheapest option.

6. Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, normally within 14 days of us receiving the returned item or agreeing the refund. We will always confirm the amount and timing with you.

7. Questions

If anything here isn't clear, or you would simply rather talk it through, contact us:

Phone: 07359 729639
Email: support@pclincs.co.uk
Address: 2 Ceres Grove, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN17 2FL

We are a small local team and we would always rather sort a problem properly than hide behind the small print.
